Totally Tilda Bingo

Over at Totally Tilda this week they are playing Bingo and I have gone with Glitter/Sparkle, Hand Stitching and Flowers.

I have coloured up Tilda with Flower Pot using my Copics and I used the colourless blender to add the spots. I love the way her coat has turned out and it matched my papers beautifully. Even though I haven't been creating alot I have still been looking at lots of blogs and Facebook groups to try and see what others are doing to improve my work. One area in particular is flowers and layers. I am pleased with my flowers but still need to work on the laying and making everything pop. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. After colouring Tilda I handstitched the border and then added some blue stickles to create a frame. I hope you like her.

Until next time

April Showers

It's amazing how much I can get done when I put my mind to it. I made this card last night and I really like the way that it has turned out. I coloured Tilda with Copics and once again raided my stash and challenged myself to use things that I wouldn't normally use. I even made the background using a SU set and some inks.I am entering this card in the Mid-week Magnolia Challenge "April Showers". So here she is

It's good to be back

Well it has certainly been a long time between blog posts with lots of highs and lows in between. But I have been doing lots of craft not just making cards but quilting and sewing. I will endeavour to do regular posts and would like to share some of the cards I have been making.
The first is a series of Christmas scenes and I loved doing all the colouring. The images turned out a lot larger than I expected so it doesn't have a lot of embellishment but I am certainly pleased with the result. I would also like to enter it into the MDUC Masking

The next card is one that I have made for the MDUC Design Team Call. I am really excited about this card and I am thrilled with the way that it has turned out. I have been buying lots of stuff and haven't had a chance to use it. So I went through my stash and have made the following card.

I have coloured Tilda in with my Copics and I had so much fun using my blues. I used a Spellbinders frame to cut out the frame and if you look very carefully in the second photo there are silver swirls behind her. I cut out the tag using a Doo Hicky and used Magnolia crystals and Kaiser flowers to finish it off. I also stamped Tildas wings twice and added another layer so it looked like she was in flight. Sorry about the photos my iPhone is not playing nice and wont allow me to download photos.
I promise it wont be so long in between posts and I am very excited to be back.
Until next time
Sam
P.S I will also take some photos of the other projects that are on the go

All about Edwin

Well I  certainly have had my mojo back with three posts within a week, a new record. I have found that colouring has really relaxed me over the last couple of weeks and I find myself just sitting and colouring. I then go to my coloured images grab out the DPs and then just sit and look. I then leave them on my desk and then go in later and play. I have found this method has worked best for me. Anyway I have recently aquired the suitcase stamp and Edwin with his toy aeroplane. I was hoping to get two cards made one for my sister and her husband who are off on a trip and a dear friend from work who was going away too. Ironically they were both going to the sane country anyway I didn't get any cards made in time but I am now prepared in case anyone else I know goes away. I went through my stash and found that I had these DP's. I colored all the images with my Copics and added some twine. Anyway here is Edwin ready for a trip.

I am entering this card in the Tilda's Town Challenge Blog All about Edwin

Flower Tilda

Well two posts in one night, I know it's either all or nothing!!!! Anyway I picked this stamp up on Saturday and have been anxiously awaiting her arrival. Instead of choosing DP's I just coloured her how I wanted. I then found all this paper in my scraps and it all came together. I have coloured Tilda with my Copics and have added lots of stickles to her wings. I then used the Stampin' Up bunting punch except I couldn't work out how to attach it. I then got out my flowers to have a play and one of them fell and landed near the bunting and I decided to go with that. I really love the flowers and I am getting better at arranging them on my cards. At first I couldn't get it right but just like my Copics I persisted and I am extremely glad I did. Anyway here is the card and I am entering it in the Bunting/Pennants challenge at Totally Tilda.

Row Your Boat

Wow it has been so long since I have done a post. I have been so busy as I always am this time of year. Anyway I finally got a chance to sit down and colour.I managed to pick up some Magnolia papers from the latest collection. I adore the Row your boat paper and decided I wanted to use it with the Captain Edwin stamp that I had coloured up a while ago. I then coloured the Port Hole Background to use with Edwin. I was so pleased with the way this turned out, then I found the background map stamp that I picked up as a make and take at a craft show I attended a while ago and it all seemed to come together. The next day the MDUC announced their Bingo challenge and all I needed to do was add some cheesecloth and my card was complete. My card also qualifies for the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge, Water, Water, Everywhere I didn't use the paper but I can guarantee you that it won't be long before you see it in a project. Anyway here is Captain Edwin, I apologise for the photos my iPhone no longer syncs with my computer.
So I have used the middle line for my card, Edwin, Cheesecloth and Pearls. I have used Captain Edwin as my image, cheesecloth behind the porthole and pearls on the waves. Here he is

I have used my Copics to colour all my images, now for a close up.
I am so happy with the waves. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and I doodled around the outside so it would look like a map.
 Until next time happy crafting!!

Edwin for a change

My dear friend Alethea recently mentioned that she was after Lilly Rose from the Prince and Princess Collection. So for her birthday I managed to track her down at Tildas Town which is a long way from here (Australia) so I decided I didn't want her to travel so far on her own and she needed some company. I decided to purchase Edwin with lizard to make a card for my son's birthday. Tom loves lizards and it is his job at school to look after and care for the two Blue Tongue Lizards that are school pets, or Lizzy and Bluey as they are better known. I thought this would be a perfect image for his birthday card and tried to co-ordinate it with some real boy colours. I coloured Edwin with my Copics and I added some stickles to the lizard to make him stand out, if you look closely he even has a blue tongue! Tom can also be seen walking around school with a lizard draped around his neck. The background stamp behind Edwin is from Kazass and I embossed using clear powder and then used Forrest Moss Distress Ink. The other papers were from my stash and I finished it off with some twine. I am so happy with this card and I am entering it in the Just Magnolia challenge which is to follow a sketch. The Mad for Markers challenge which is to use masculine colours and the Tilda's Town challenge which is anything goes.
